ABOUT THE ROLE

I am an elderly lady living with dementia. I live in my own home with my husband and a live-in carer who supports me every day. I require 2:1 support for personal care, and I have a small team of personal assistants (PAs) who help me throughout the day for around 9 hours.

I need support with personal care such as washing, dressing, and continence care. I also need help with preparing meals and drinks, and support to eat and stay hydrated.

Interaction is important to me although Im no longer able to communicate verbally, I enjoy companionship, gentle conversation, and reassurance throughout the day.

Im looking for a warm, reliable person to join my little circle of support someone who can step in when one of my PAs is on holiday or unwell. Youd be helping me feel safe and supported in my familiar surroundings, which means a great deal to me.


Applicants need to be female to support me with my personal care needs.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal person will live locally to me and be able to work flexibly sometimes at short notice, including the occasional weekend or evening if needed. Youll be calm, kind, and patient, with a gentle approach that helps me feel at ease.

You dont need to be an expert in dementia, but some experience would be helpful or at least a willingness to learn and adapt as things change for me.

Youll need to be comfortable working in someones home and respecting our routines. Being able to work well alongside others is important, as youll often be part of a team, supporting me together with my husband or another PA.
