About You Our client is a very successful and highly regarded private physio clinic offering services to their patients form three locations across Wiltshire. Our client seeks a full-time podiatrist (open to part time with a minimum of 32 hours pw) to join its clinics who will be contracted to travel and work from all three locations ( Devizes, Frome, Marlborough). Treat patients with the utmost respect and deliver a treatment programme with 100% commitment and professionalism Work closely with the multi- disciplinary team ensuring the maximum outcome for the patient Take ownership of your own personal and professional development. Maintain a portfolio which reflects personal and professional development. Include background reading, attendance at in-service training and lectures etc into your development plan. CPD emphasis should be placed on the knowledge and skills relevant to the clinic and patient needs. Contribute and participate in all in-service training sessions Work within company guidelines and have a good understanding of national and local standards on which to measure own quality of practice. Be responsible for maintaining accurate, timely and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with professional guidelines and company standards. Ideally we seek a minimum of two years post grad experience to apply for this role, however, with the right attitude and confidence we will welcome applications from newly grads. You will be registered with the HCPC; and be confident to work independently. As travel to all three clinics is required, a full driving licence and own transport will be required.

About the role What will I achieve in my first 12 months? Starting with a structured induction plan, youll progress step-by-step until youre fully equipped with the tools and knowledge you need to start treating their patients. Youll develop an understanding of all of the services they offer and be an important part of the multidisciplinary team, learning how to make recommendations and refer patients to the other services when required. You will enjoy a varied caseload that includes various podiatry treatments, including Swift, Clearanail, nail surgery and biomechanical assessments. Youll be given regular feedback, performance reviews and training opportunities. In return, youll be sharing your knowledge with your team, learning from other health professionals and supporting their growth in return and seeking ways for them to continually improve their Podiatry service. Finally, lets not forget that you will also be attending a social event or two (or three..) which will help you build relationships and have fun. General day to day duties and responsibilities will include, but are not subject to; Assess each patient thoroughly to identify their ailment Develop intricate clinical skills requiring prolonged concentration in; Wound care and ulcer debridement, Enucleation and debridement of fibrous and neuro-vascular lesions including corn and callous and other dermatological conditions. Neurological and vascular assessment using appropriate diagnostic equipment Minor invasive and sterile surgical procedures Use of materials to redistribute foot pressures Assess patients with foot health pathology including those with systemic disease (e.g. diabetes, vascular, systemic inflammatory disorders) to maximise improvement through high levels of technical skill and behaviour change management gained by additional study and/or qualification. To work autonomously from referral to discharge Maintain clear, accurate and consented electronic records of all interventions When an accurate diagnosis has been achieved, plan a bespoke treatment programme that has been thoroughly considered in relation to the companies MDT approach. Communicate the diagnosis, treatment plan and the expected outcome to the patient at the very first appointment. Ensure before they leave their first session that they are clear and 'on board' with the treatment plan. Deliver the individual treatment programme for patients based on clinical findings and sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options. Prepare thoroughly before each follow up appointment by reading previous notes and reminding yourself of the overall treatment plan. Review progress thoroughly at every session and alter treatment programmes accordingly, making sure that the patient is fully aware of what is changing and why. Communicate effectively with clinical leads on any complex cases. This should be considered good standard practice. Show all patients to reception following each appointment and give a clear and concise handover to the receptionist Tidy, de-clutter and reset room before every patient enters Ensure all treatment methodologies can be justified against recognised best practice or evidence base.
