You are an experienced leader in environmental health and public protection, with a strong background in strategic and operational management. You hold a degree or relevant professional accreditation in Environmental Health and have expert knowledge in one or more of the specialisms covered by our services. You are committed to continuous professional development and have demonstrated success in management roles within local authorities or similar large organizations.

What the job involves

As the Head of Environmental Health & Licensing, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of services within the Public Protection Division. You will work closely with the Assistant Director and other leaders to deliver customer-focused services in line with corporate policies. Your role includes managing budgets, leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring statutory functions are executed properly, and representing the division in meetings with various stakeholders. You will also contribute to division-wide initiatives and be responsible for emergency functions as needed.
