19, who have speech, language and communication difficulties. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be working with Primary students who also present with additional needs such as Autism, motor difficulties, visual impairment, emotional and behavioural challenges. As an Occupational Therapist, you will use an individualised, multi
model approach to ensure all students reach their full language and communication potential, as well as assisting with their physical and developmental needs. Occupational Therapist Working as an Occupational Therapist within the school Working within the Primary department EHCP focused Occupational Therapy sessions Design bespoke intervention packages for children Work as part of a multidisciplinary team Liaising with parents and multidisciplinary teams regarding their implementation Producing reports/plans Supporting and representing the department in meetings and delivering training Collaborating with Teachers and other staff across the school Permanent, full-time, term-time position Located in Merton Competitive market rate salary (depending on experience) Person Specification
Occupational Therapist MUST hold relevant sector recognised full qualification and be HCPC registered Band 5 and Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist roles available Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning Thorough understanding of the OT process and activity analysis Ability to build good working relationships Ability to manage a small group of children with complex social communication needs, promoting positive behaviour in a nurturing environment Excellent observation and reflective skills Excellent English skills, along with good reading, writing and numeracy skills Strong understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing A flexible and creative approach to treatment and therapies A caring and committed team player Passionate and enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of SEN students Preferably experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with Autism Experience of working with similar caseloads with varying degrees of complexity School Details
