£21,600 £25,200 (Pro rata for 22.5 hours)
We are an ambitious organisation providing specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across a wide area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire, and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.
It costs £5.6m per year to run the Hospice, with only 20% of our funding provided by the government. We are reliant on the support of the community we serve to donate and fundraise to maintain our vital services. Over 400 volunteers give their time to the Hospice helping us run efficiently and effectively as part of the local community. This year Nightingale House Hospice is celebrating 30 years of providing compassionate care and strive to see this continue for future generations.

Nightingale House is a leading provider of palliative care, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients with life limiting illnesses and supporting their families. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team.
As an Occupational Therapist in our hospice, you play a crucial role in enabling patients to maintain their independence, dignity and a sense of purpose.You will work holistically with patients and their families, providing personalised assessments and interventions to help manage the challenges associated with their illness. Your work will focus on practical, meaningful goals that improve a patient's ability to engage in daily activities and hobbies that matter to them.
Responsibilities:
Provide an occupational therapy service in both one to one and group
settings, for patients attending Nightingale House Hospice services, with an
emphasis on symptom control, rehabilitation and improving/maintaining
independence and quality of life.
Be responsible and accountable for providing occupational therapy
assessment, developing management and treatment plans, and delivering
safe and effective occupational therapy interventions, to patients with diverse
health needs who may have complex and/or chronic conditions.
Participate in the education and training of junior staff, and the supervision
and delegation of occupational therapy related tasks to staff from own and
other disciplines.
Act as a resource and support to Hospice staff by offering support,
knowledge and skills in occupational therapy, meeting and understanding
the psychosocial, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients.
