Job Title: Paediatric Complex Care Assistant

Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and skilled Paediatric Complex Care Assistant to provide high-quality 1:1 care for children with complex medical needs in the Essex area. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver 1:1 care to paediatric clients with complex health needs in line with individual care plans
*
Administer enteral (PEG) feeding safely and accurately
*
Provide tracheostomy care and carry out suctioning to maintain airway safety
*
Monitor the child’s condition and respond promptly to clinical changes, escalating concerns as required
*
Support with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care, always promoting dignity and independence
*
Accurately document all care provided, including clinical observations and equipment usage
*
Collaborate with families, nurses, and other professionals to ensure consistent and person-centred care
*
Follow health and safety guidelines, safeguarding procedures, and infection control protocols
*
Participate in ongoing training to maintain up-to-date clinical and safeguarding competencies
Person Specification:
*
Experience supporting children with complex medical needs is essential
*
Proficient in PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
*
Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*
A valid UK driving licence is preferred (due to community-based care and travel between locations)
*

Willingness to complete mandatory training and any client-specific clinical skills training
