Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing development of PBS strategies across services.

  • Conduct functional behavioural assessments and develop person-centred PBS plans.

  • Support staff understanding of behavioural functions with compassion and dignity.

  • Deliver training, mentoring, and reflective practice sessions in collaboration with local PBS champions.

  • Work closely with individuals, families, and professionals to ensure joined-up support.

  • Promote alternatives to restrictive practices and support restraint reduction initiatives.

  • Monitor PBS implementation using data and quality assurance tools.

  • Support compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in safeguarding processes, incident debriefs, and service improvement planning.

Essential Criteria:
  • Relevant qualification in Psychology, Behavioural Science, Health & Social Care, or related field.

  • Experience applying PBS in social care settings supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health needs.

  • Strong knowledge of behaviour analysis, person-centred planning, and functional assessment.

  • Proven ability to create and implement PBS plans that deliver measurable results.

  • Excellent training, communication, and coaching skills.

  • Solid understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and social care regulatory frameworks.

Desirable Criteria:
  • Postgraduate qualification or certification in PBS, ABA, or related field.

  • Experience working across multiple or community-based services.

  • Training in trauma-informed care, leadership, or restraint reduction.

  • Membership of professional bodies (e.g., UK-SBA, BILD ACT, BPS).

Personal Attributes:
  • Compassionate, values-led, and person-centred in approach.

  • Calm and analytical in high-pressure situations.

  • Skilled in building trust with individuals, families, and professionals.

  • Committed to continuous learning and service improvement.
