Regional Market Access (RMAx) Manager

Field-Based – London & South East England


About the Role

This field-based, customer-facing role is focused on ensuring and expanding access to medicines across multiple therapeutic areas, while optimising funding pathways for service delivery at the regional and trust level. The Regional Market Access (RMAx) Manager will cover London and the South East of England and will be responsible for driving local access strategies in alignment with national objectives.


Team Overview

The role sits within the UK & Ireland Market Access function and supports cross-therapy efforts. This includes working collaboratively across therapeutic areas such as infectious diseases, oncology, and cell therapy, among others.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement a cross-portfolio market access strategy for the assigned territory
  • Build strong partnerships with NHS regional bodies including Integrated Care Systems (ICS), local authorities, and other key stakeholders to support access initiatives
  • Ensure timely inclusion of medicines onto regional and local formularies
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to optimise funding of service elements (e.g., patient pathways)
  • Monitor and report on developments in NHS structure and commissioning processes, with a focus on ICS organisations
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers within ICS and Cancer Alliances
  • Communicate value propositions effectively using approved payer tools and messaging
  • Collaborate proactively with cross-functional national and local teams to ensure alignment
  • Utilise a mix of in-person and virtual engagement methods to build and maintain strategic relationships


External Stakeholder Engagement Includes

  • NHS England Specialised Commissioning teams
  • ICB (Integrated Care Board) and Cancer Alliance members
  • Provider Trust budget holders, healthcare professionals, and pharmacists
  • Public health commissioners and representatives from public health organisations
  • Local authority stakeholders and sexual health leads


Experience & Capabilities

  • Background in market access, ideally with exposure to specialised commissioning
  • Strong track record of collaboration with NHS stakeholders
  • Experience in infectious diseases, oncology, or cell therapy is highly desirable
  • Understanding of NHS commissioning pathways and ICS operations
  • Experience in developing and executing joint working initiatives (desirable)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills
