Location: The Functional Gut Clinic, London

Full-time | 40 hours per week (occasional Saturdays required)

At The Functional Gut Clinic, we’re passionate about improving the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal conditions. As a key provider of GI physiology services in both the private sector and to over 15 NHS Trusts across the UK, we’re expanding our capabilities in clinical research, particularly within medicines, medical devices, and food supplements.


We're looking for a Research Nurse to support our growing research activity at our flagship clinic in London. If you’re a registered nurse with a passion for innovation in healthcare and experience in clinical trials, we’d love to hear from you.


What You’ll Be Doing

As a Research Nurse, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical trials and research team, working to GCP standards and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting trial visits and supporting participants throughout their research journey
  • Performing ECGs, phlebotomy, clinical histories, vital signs and sample collection
  • Managing trial diaries, site files, eCRFs, and participant scheduling
  • Leading audits and supporting IQIPS and CQC compliance
  • Liaising with clinicians, CROs, sponsors, and study participants
  • Presenting findings at conferences and supporting publications for R&D and marketing
  • Training junior staff and contributing to protocol development and SOPs


What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with current GCP certification
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical research (GI experience a bonus)
  • Skilled in phlebotomy, ECGs, and physiology procedures
  • Strong organisational, time management, and IT skills (MS Office, data entry systems)
  • Proactive team player with excellent communication skills
  • Willing to work flexibly and undergo an Enhanced DBS check
