We have an exciting opportunity for a Sample Reception Manager to join our Pathology Department based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 7LJ, with a competitive salary range on offer.

We have approx. 1300 employees across 8 sites, where we cover a broad range of specialisms, including complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services.

Job Profile

Leading the Sample Reception teams in order to ensure that excellent, efficient and professional services that meets the needs of our users, are delivered.

  • Job Type: This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Key Duties

  • To ensure that staff are given training, competency testing and appraisal at regular intervals.
  • To manage referral of samples and specimens processed in external labs and to ensure follow-up results which exceed the stated turnaround time.
  • To receive all referred test results and reports and to ensure they are entered into Apex promptly and accurately.
  • To support initiatives to ensure quality excellence and value-for-money from all referred work.
  • To ensure transport regulations are upheld when referring samples.

Skills & Experience

  • Supervisory or management experience of administrative duties in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Management of performance and key performance indicators.
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Excellent team management and leadership skills
