Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sonographer to join our diagnostic imaging team, specialising in both adult and paediatric ultrasound examinations. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of patient care while delivering accurate diagnostic imaging services in a busy and supportive environment.

This role requires a professional who is confident in a wide range of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, gynaecological, small parts, musculoskeletal, and paediatric imaging.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations for adult and paediatric patients in line with national and departmental protocols.
  • Accurately interpret and report ultrasound findings, or assist radiologists in reporting where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care pathways.
  • Ensure excellent communication with patients, including providing reassurance and clear instructions throughout the procedure.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of scans and patient interactions.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and departmental audit activities.
  • Adhere to policies and national guidelines, including infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations.


Essential Requirements:

  • Registration with HCPC or other recognised UK professional regulatory body (e.g. SCoR).
  • Proven experience in adult general sonography (e.g. abdominal, pelvic, small parts).
  • Competency in paediatric ultrasound
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Desirable:

  • Experience in vascular ultrasound.
  • Prior NHS experience or familiarity with UK healthcare systems.
