A fantastic part-time opportunity to support an extremely engaging 15-year-old who loves adventure!

Toby, aged 15 is an active, happy and very social young man. He enjoys adapted sport, swimming, the theatre, socialising and just being out and about. He has cerebral palsy and requires support for all activities of daily living, including personal care and assistance with social and leisure opportunities. Toby independently drives his wheelchair and loves an active lifestyle.

Overview of role: We are looking for a Personal Assistant / Buddy who can assist with the morning routine. Responsibilities will include personal care, hoisting and assisting with breakfast/PEG feeds. After-school and weekend shifts also available to enable Toby to access his social activities.

Driver Essential? Yes, training can be provided to drive client's automatic WAV. (needs to be aged 25+ in order to be insured to drive the WAV)
Essential: Enthusiasm, Outgoing personality, patience and willingness to support a young person with additional needs
Desirable: An interest or prior experience using specialist equipment such as hoists would be useful. Non-smoker.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday: 7am – 9am to assist with getting up and ready for school. Additional Friday hours – 3.30 – 7.30pm also available. With scope for weekend/school holiday shifts.

Whilst prior experience supporting a young person with a physical disability will be useful, full training will be provided, so having the right approach and personality is key! The hourly rate being offered is between £14 and £17 Gross Per Hour depending on experience.
