Service Line: Mental Health Adults (Acute) Summary of the site
Acer Upper at Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 14 bed acute mental health service for women. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. The ethos of this service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community. Care is provided in a therapeutic environment, with a level of security matched to individual needs. The aim of the treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialisation programme is to prepare the people in our care either for transfer to conditions of lesser security, or for a life in the community.
You will report directly to the Band 6 Occupational Therapist on site within the service, who is based at Acer Lower. Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups &amp; become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists. A unique opportunity has arisen to join a small team who are committed and passionate about improving the lives of children/young people with disabilities, complex health needs or chronic illness.The client offers a Part-timecontract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. Minor adaptations: Assessment and safety measures
Home adaptations: Assessment of potential need for adaptations through the national Disabled Facility Grant. Adaptations may include through floor lifts, ceiling track hoists, level access showers, facilitating wheelchair access throughout a property.
Housing needs assessments: Assessments to support a social housing application for a property, identifying specific access needs of a child to be considered when being rehoused.
