Job Summary:Working in our Lisburn Service can be an incredibly challenging but equally rewarding role. It is a supported living setting that facilitates a bespoke placement for individuals with complex needs that includes, mental ill health, learning disability, and autism coupled with behaviours that may challenge. Using the principles of positive behaviour support, as part of a team we have been able to actively support and positively improve the lives of the individuals we support.Due to the support that our supported individuals require, there is a high staffing ratio of 3:1 in their home or 4:1 in the community. Working in partnership with a number of commissioning Trusts, our team gather and collate data to implement bespoke PBS plans to improve the lives of the individuals we support.Each Positive Behaviour Support Lead will work as part of a dedicated team to provide a consistent high quality support service within a caring environment, ensuring that both the people we support and staff are treated with dignity and respect.You will be champions in the positive behaviour support approach, and Praxis Care will support you to attain competence through formal qualifications and experience and expect that you contribute to the dissemination of understanding of PBS across the organisation.About The RoleKey Accountabilities:<ul><li>Support the manager with the day to day operational running of the service including rota management and creation, supervision and appraisal of staff</li><li>Plan, co-ordinate and implement the safe transition of new supported people into the service and community where necessary in consultation with the MDT</li><li>In consultation with the MDT and management, PBS leads will identify specific areas of data collection that are required, agree how this data will be gathered, collated and share this information with the MDT for analysis within fortnightly core group meetings to inform decision making in relation to the effectiveness of current PBS plans and approaches</li><li>Ensure that adequate records are created and maintained and necessary reports, including untoward/critical incidents are produced and reported in line with Organisational policy and statutory requirements. This will include facilitating and participating in debriefs on an individual and group basis</li><li>Have a full working knowledge of positive behavioural support and systems theory and to be able to exercise judgement in identifying and addressing complex behaviours where a range of options and the implications of each of these have to be considered</li><li>Provide effective leadership, supervision and management to a team of Positive Behaviour Support Workers, including monitoring of adherence to supported peoples care and support plans, bespoke PBS plans, reflective practice, time keeping, attendance and the participation in any capability, disciplinary and grievances procedures etc.</li><li>Complete any mandatory training identified as necessary by the Organisation whilst identifying and addressing personal development opportunities for both the post holder and those managed by the post holder</li></ul>Requirements of the Role:<ul><li>Participate in the company appraisal and staff review process.</li><li>Adhere to and model the company values, behaviours, and competencies at all times.</li><li>Carry out all duties of the post in accordance with Praxis expectations, regulations, and policies.</li><li>Be prepared to take on additional duties and responsibilities as required.</li><li>Work the necessary hours to meet the needs of the service.</li><li>Currently our PBS Workers complete 3 weeks of day shifts and 1 week of night shifts in a 4 week period.</li><li>Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of £45.00 per night applies</li></ul>The above-mentioned duties are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to carry out other duties as necessary.
