Job description
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist EDU to join a specialist mental health service in Stockport. This is a full‑time consultant role offering strong clinical leadership opportunities for a psychiatrist passionate about supporting the mental health needs of children and young people in education‑linked settings.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents presenting with complex mental health difficulties.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), schools, and education professionals to deliver coordinated, person‑centred care.
- Lead on formulation, risk management, and evidence‑based interventions within the EDU setting.
- Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register, with evidence provided upon request.
- CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant area of Psychiatry.
- Experience in child and adolescent or general adult psychiatry is desirable, with an interest in education‑linked mental health services.
- Strong leadership, communication, and MDT working skills.
