Job description
Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) - Stockport £100 per Hour Flexible 4-Day WeekA well-established clinical service in Stockport is seeking an experienced Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine to support outpatient sexual health services from mid-June. This is a structured, well-supported role offering flexibility in working patterns alongside dedicated time for administration and patient management.
Role Details:
- Mid-June start
- 4 days per week
- Flexible
- 09:00 - 18:00
- 30-minute standard patient consultations
- Protected 30-minute admin time per session
- Occasional extended reviews or complex case follow-ups when required
Key Responsibilities:
- Run outpatient GUM clinics with a focus on sexual health diagnosis and treatment
- Provide comprehensive STI screening, management, and follow-up care
- Assess, treat, and counsel patients across a broad range of genitourinary presentations
- Develop appropriate care pathways and management plans tailored to individual patients
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical record-keeping during allocated admin time
- Manage clinic flow effectively to maintain smooth patient throughput
- Provide specialist input for complex or recurrent presentations
- Work closely with multidisciplinary sexual health teams to support service delivery
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance and patient confidentiality
