Part-Time Vet Receptionist - Upminster, EssexUp to 16.5 Hours Per Week 1-in-4 Weekends Minimum Wage
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a part-time Receptionist to join a busy and highly regarded veterinary hospital team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, warm, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
The Role:You will be the first point of contact for clients, providing a welcoming and professional experience to both pet owners and their pets. This is a varied and fast-paced position, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to support both clinical and non-clinical teams.
Key duties include:
- Greeting clients and ensuring a positive first impression
- Handling telephone and email enquiries
- Booking appointments with accuracy and efficiency
- Supporting the smooth running of the reception area
- Liaising with veterinary teams to ensure excellent client care
Hours & Working Pattern:
- Up to 16.5 hours per week
- 1-in-4 weekends
- Weekday shifts: typically 6 hours
- Weekend shifts: 9 hours (including a paid 1-hour lunch break)
- Most shifts fall between 1 pm and 11 pm
- Shared Bank Holiday cover: around 2 per year
- Christmas Day cover required once every 4 years
- Fully on-site position
What We're Looking For:The ideal candidate will have previous experience in reception or customer service roles, with confidence in managing face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails, and appointment systems. You should be friendly, organised, and able to remain calm in a busy environment.
